I became MD in 2009, after working as the Finance Director previously. I have grown the business from £1 million turnover business to £45 million, with the support, courage, and brilliance of our high performing team.
With a collaborative and commercial attitude, I have grown the business ensuring with every service we deliver, we put the customer at the centre. I am never afraid to fail, as I believe if you are resilient, listen to others, and are open to learn, you will eventually succeed in any diversification.
I introduced Investors in People(IIP) and international quality standards (ISO) to M&Y, supporting the benefits of standardised, quality business practices and first-class people management.
I am proud to be an ambassador for women in construction and maintenance and I work tirelessly to promote careers in our sector and to educate young people on the basic behaviours and values required to be successful in any walk of life.
M&Y has an incredible social heart, consistently generating profit for purpose. We deliver circa 10% of our turnover, every year, into tangible social outcomes, be it charity donations, work placement opportunities or improving a communal garden for example.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, walking my dog, and making memories with my family.
With 30+ years in construction, my expertise lies in quantity surveying. I’ve spearheaded diverse projects – healthcare, social housing, and private residences – honing coordination and negotiation skills. Strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors underline my approach.
Beyond work, I enjoy travelling in the UK with my family. Our favourite spot is the picturesque town of Christchurch on the south coast.
With 20+ years of sector experience, I serve diverse housing associations in the North West. Leading M&Y’s operational facets—responsive repairs, refurbishment, M&E, grounds maintenance, and more—is my remit. I manage contracts worth £20M annual turnover for various clients.
In my spare time, I revel in the outdoors, often on my motorbike, embracing adventure.
Joining M&Y in 1992 as an apprentice joiner, I’ve ascended through supervisory and management positions. Leading the operations department, I manage our in-house planning, fire compliance, voids, and repairs/maintenance.
As a sports enthusiast, I enjoy playing golf and watching Liverpool FC.
I have more than 32 years’ experience in the social housing sector. Since I joined M&Y in 2015, I have been responsible for the delivery of numerous contracts, including 9.5 million in repairs and maintenance contracts, £6 million in M&E contracts and £3.5 million in domestic heating renewals each year. I also have responsibility for the management of Regenda Group’s £2.5m fleet.
My strengths are delivering programmes to tight deadlines and ensuring that KPI’s, health and safety procedures and customer satisfaction are always attained. I pride myself on ensuring we exceed our clients’ expectations, giving their customers great service and communicating with all stakeholders. I hold CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic management to support this.
I enjoy playing football with my two sons, coaching their team at weekends and playing badminton.
With 24+ years in housing, including 15 partnering in-house contractor and asset management functions, I joined The Regenda Group in December 2017. I’ve empowered M&Y’s financial performance by aiding budget holders and senior management to achieve value and efficiency.
In leisure, I embrace travel, reading, and cherished family time, often with my dogs by my side.
My life in the construction industry started as a Site Engineer nearly 20 years ago. Since then I have worked on a wide range of buildings from housing, new schools, universities, healthcare and commercial across the North West. I absolutely love the construction industry and I am a big advocate of helping to develop the next generation of construction professionals and leaders.
In my spare time I follow Tranmere Rovers and going on walks with the family and 2 springer spaniels.
