M&Y was set up in 1980 by Ken Murphy and Graham Yates.
The initial work undertaken by the fledging business was to build extensions and fit hard wood windows for private households.
And for the next five years, that was what M&Y did every day!
1985
M&Y received their first job in the social housing sector.
Carrying out responsive repairs and working on empty homes for Riverside Housing.
1995
We began carrying out responsive repairs for Muir Group, Liverpool Housing and Maritime Housing Association.
2000
We officially registered as a company in 2000.
2007
We won an £8 million contract with The Regenda Group to deliver responsive repairs over the next five years.
2009
In 2009, we were acquired by The Regenda Group, and became part of the Liverpool based housing business. At that time, we had a turnover of £2 million and had 33 members of staff.
2010
Lancashire Building Maintenance joined M&Y. We began delivering responsive repairs and gas servicing in Lancashire and electrical works and gas servicing in Merseyside
2012
We opened a depot in Manchester and took over from City Response, managing the repairs and maintenance for 3,000 properties in the area. The following year, we began to deliver gas services in Manchester too.
2015
M&Y turned 35 years old and our turnover had increased to £17 million.
2016
We successfully secured an additional £1 million in external work and an additional £1.6 million through our refurbishment programme. We increased our turnover by £3 million and launched our successful apprenticeship programme.
2017
In 2017, we turned a historical building in Wirral into 21 apartments for social rent in a £2.1 million project for housing association, Regenda Homes.
2018
We built 19 luxury homes for outright sale in Hambleton, Wyre for property company, Redwing and we began work on a £10 million regeneration project in Fleetwood, installing cavity wall insulation and replacing roofs, windows and doors to hundreds of properties in Fleetwood.
2020
A number of our flagship developments will be completed in early 2020, including the five-storey Lister Gardens in Sefton, comprising 20 two and three-bedroom apartments and Pavilion Point, a three-storey apartment block in Aigburth comprising 14 two-bedroom apartments for shared ownership.
2023
Ecogee joins the Regenda Group. Strengthening M&Y’s ability to offer energy-efficient construction and improvement works
