M&Y pledge support for Petrus who return to RHS Tatton Park Flower Show

Garden 360 and MY with the team at Tatton Flower Show

Our purpose goes beyond construction and maintenance. It’s about supporting local people and businesses in a sustainable manner that respects our planet.

M&Y have proudly supported Petrus charity for a number of years, helping them to provide a wide range of services to support people who are homeless or in housing need.

This year we are sponsoring them to return to the RHS Tatton Park Flower show for the 5th year!

Their ‘Kaleidoscope Ginnel Garden’ co-designed by service users and local community organisations will be a celebration of the diverse friendships formed through community gardening.

Introduced for the first time at last year’s RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, the Ginnel Garden proved immensely popular with visitors. A ginnel, sometimes also known as an alleyway or a snicket, is a narrow passageway between a row of houses – often an unused space in an urban residential area. In 2023, the Ginnel Garden celebrated the way these spaces were transformed into vibrant and productive spaces by communities during the pandemic.

Inspired by the 60th anniversary of RHS’s Britain in Bloom, three community organisations from across Rochdale will build this year’s ginnel to celebrate the diverse friendships formed through gardening.

Justin Toole, M&Y Fleet Manager has been helping Petrus along the way. Supporting with logistics, arranging van hire and attending RHS Tatton show to support the team!

Gill Kelly, Managing Director of M&Y Maintenance and Construction said:

“We are thrilled to once again pledge our support for Petrus in their 5th year at RHS Tatton. We are proud to help Petrus’ vital work, supporting people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Tatton project is in perfect alignment with our core belief – that we have a duty to protect and support our communities and the environment. We’re really looking forward to seeing the very special Petrus Kaleidoscope Garden this year at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show!”
The garden has been created with the support of service users, volunteers and staff from Petrus, Falinge Park High School and charity Aspire to Inspire. Each organisation will have a section to express what friendship means to them.
