We’re excited to be funding a special aspirational program for 26 school children in Winsford. Positive Footprints has been chosen by M&Y to deliver their award-winning Raising Aspirations program to Grange Community Primary School!
Just a stone’s throw away from the school is the M&Y New Road project, made up of 27 social rent apartments which has been in partnership with Weaver Vale Housing Trust in Winsford. Our contribution to the local school Grange Community is all part of their Social Value commitments and will leave a positive impact in the community.
26 children in Year 5 will be learning all about how to identify their own skills and aspirations for the future. They will take part in fantastic Career Conversations with professionals from all walks of life. Culminating around World Book Day, where children will meet a Clinical Psychologist from Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and not 1 but 2 published authors!
Gill Kelly, Managing Director and M&Y Maintenance and Construction, said:
“We’re so proud to support the community with programs like this. We put Social Value at the heart of everything we do, it’s a part of the way we work in communities. These programs are so important for school aged children, to help raise their aspirations, inspire them and equip them with the skills that they need for the future to achieve their dreams.”
Jo Norwood, Customer Relationship Manager at Positive Footprints, said:
“It’s great to continue our partnership with M&Y once again, as we inspire children at another school in the North West. The investment M&Y makes to support children and young people in their communities shows how much they care. Our Raising Aspirations programme opens up the world of work as well as contributing to shaping a brighter future, by working with M&Y we are able to make a difference to the lives of young people in Winsford.”
Lynette Hamlet from Weaver Vale Housing Trust said:“ We’re absolutely delighted with the Social Value contributions from M&Y in relation to our Winsford development. The work will make a massive difference in our community. The Raising Aspirations project at the Grange Primary is an excellent opportunity to help young children to understand that they can achieve anything, rather than being restricted to the few career areas that they are aware of. This could have a lifelong impact on both the children and their families.”
